UV system for pools: Simple and effective

A pool in your own garden is pure relaxation. But to ensure that the water always remains clear and healthy, it requires reliable water treatment. Thereby the UV disinfection system plays a key role.

The water treatment chain consists of several steps, including the pump, the sand filter and finally the UV system. The water post-treatment chain can optionally include the addition of chlorine or other chemicals, heating the water and regulating the pH.

To get the best out of your UV system, the following 4 basic rules should be observed:

Circulation rate: You should circulate the entire pool contents through the system at least three times a day. In algae intensive phases, such as after heavy rain, storms or intense sunlight, an increase to 3.5 to 4 times is recommended.

Cleaning: Pool walls and floor require regular maintenance. A pool robot is your best friend here, ensuring cleanliness.

Efficient pool hydraulics: The positioning of the inlet and outlet openings is crucial here. Ideally, these should be located at opposite ends of the pool.

Backwash & rinse: Regular backwashing and subsequent rinsing is essential. The setting for this is child's play on the filter head of your system.

Additional Tip: Filter socks (link to product) for the skimmer can further increase the efficiency and lifetime of your system by collecting coarse debris.
