Pond cleaning is crucial for the well -being of your garden pond. Ponds are sensitive ecosystems that require continuous monitoring and care. In contrast to pools, certain organisms are desirable in ponds and are often used in a targeted manner. Therefore, chemical cleaning agents are not suitable.


From the optimal state to algae plague

A balanced ecosystem that regulates itself is the ideal state for ponds. However, since most ponds are artificially created, this condition is difficult to achieve. Additional measures such as a pond filter are often necessary, but these should only serve as support. The careful planning and maintenance of the pond is more important. A well -thought -out design with sufficiently flat areas for aquatic plants can serve as a natural filter and prevent the growth of algae in the pond. Algae are not only unsightly, but also withdraw nutrients and can make water uninhabitable for fish and other animals.


The right accessories for pond cleaning

To support the pond cleaning in smaller garden ponds, a pond filter with integrated fountain is often used. However, an artificial stream that offers both aesthetic and functional advantages. The necessary devices include a pond pump, filter, lines and optionally a UV-C lamp that controls the growth of algae. A UV-C lamp is particularly indispensable for swimming ponds in order to obtain the sensitive balance of the ecosystem. A powerful pump, combined with sand or quartz filters, contributes to the stability of the pond.

Green water is not only an aesthetic problem, but is considerably stressed by the pond ecosystem. Clear, healthy pond is more joy and promotes the well -being of all residents.
