Swimming pool providers promise swimming fun in many brochures and on websites. However, swimming in a pool can only be fun with well-structured and regular pool water maintenance. This begins with the selection of the right pool cleaner, which must meet the needs and expectations of the owner. The coordination of the pool cleaning set is of crucial importance. If the decision is made to use chlorine, for example, the user should be aware of the dosage used and which other chemicals, such as flocculants, pH value boosters and reducers, are required.

SUCCESSFUL POOL CLEANING WITHOUT CHLORINE

If the choice is made to clean the pool without chlorine, special systems that work with physical rather than chemical processes are installed instead of protective goggles and chemicals. First and foremost, UV-C disinfection should be mentioned here. Here, a tube is installed in the normal pump circuit in which the water flowing through is treated with UV-C light. After this treatment, all algae, bacteria and germs are killed. The result is clean pool water without chemicals. The most important thing with UV-C is that the system runs daily for the required time. The rule of thumb is to run three times the pool volume through the UV-C system every day. Both chemical and physical processes use additional filters, which can be sand filter systems or backwash filters. These are used to filter out coarse dirt and dead algae and thus help the water achieve the desired clarity.

CLEANING FLOORS AND WALLS

Every pool accessory should also include a vacuum cleaner or floor vacuum to remove leaves and dead or flaked algae. Once these have settled on the floor, they are very difficult for the pump to reach. Accumulations of dirt on the walls or on the floor are breeding grounds for algae. Therefore, cleaning the walls with a brush or similar, depending on the degree of soiling, is also part of pool maintenance. This cleaning not only has an aesthetic purpose, but also enables the systems for combating algae to function correctly. These measures should be carried out more frequently depending on the degree of soiling.

THE TARPAULIN AS ADDITIONAL PROTECTION

To protect the pool from dirt and maintain the water quality, a pool cover is also part of the pool accessories. It also protects the pool from cooling down at night or on cooler summer days. A special case is whirlpool water care, where a much smaller amount of water is involved, which can be cleaned very efficiently and quickly with UV-C and thus kept free of algae.

OUR RECOMMENDATION: POOL CARE WITH UV-C LIGHT

Regardless of whether you have a whirlpool, paddling pool or swimming pool, the choice of the right pool cleaning agent determines whether the bathing fun suggested in the advertising becomes a reality. We recommend pool care with UV-C, which not only improves the water quality, but is also harmless to nature and bathers
