The decision to set up a saltwater pool is usually driven by health aspects. Saltwater is soothing for the skin, gentle, and protects the body from dehydration. Precisely because of these positive effects, it is crucial that the pool is cleaned in a health-compatible manner. Cleaning with chlorine is absolutely not recommended here, as the positive properties of saltwater are almost completely negated by chlorine and other chemicals. The PURION 2001 P uses the UV-C disinfection process: Algae are specifically illuminated with UV-C light, causing the DNA connections to dissolve and the algae to die. This gentle method of water purification does not change the water in taste, smell, or composition. The PURION 2001 P can be applied to a saltwater pool with 30m³. For a health-promoting saltwater pool, there is no more compatible cleaning than UV-C – a cleaning that is environmentally friendly and economically attractive.
Thanks to a wide voltage ballast, this system is designed for a voltage range of 85-264V and can thus be used in many different countries. The system is equipped with a Euro plug and can also be used with an adapter (not included) for other plug types.
The UV-C lamp has a natural performance decline over its lifetime. We guarantee that the lamp will achieve the promised flow performance after 10,000 hours. After this time, the lamp must be replaced, and the lamp runtime counter and lifetime monitoring (OTC) signal the right time. The hours the lamp is on are counted, and the values are displayed via an LED indicator. Up to 9,000 hours, a green LED lights up, between 9,000 and 10,000 hours, a yellow LED indicates the pre-alarm, and after 10,000 hours, a red LED lights up. This ensures the right time for lamp replacement is not missed.
Due to the PVC reactor, this system is suitable for saltwater. Since the welds of stainless steel are attacked by salt, there is no alternative to PVC for the saltwater area.
To keep a pool permanently free of algae, the correct coordination between the pump and the UV-C system is necessary. It is essential that at least three times the pool volume flows through the UV-C system per day. The maximum flow rate of 8m³/h should not be exceeded, as this will result in the water not being properly disinfected. In certain cases, it is necessary to run the system longer: This is urgently required, for example, after heavy rainfall or if the water has been in the pool over the winter.
In an unfavorable starting situation with a lot of algae, it can be advantageous to use a biological flocculant to support the UV-C system.
In this Bundle, an additional replacement lamp, the appropriate mounting frame, and a service kit for intensive cleaning are included in addition to the system.
