The small size, low power consumption, and long runtime of 10,000 operating hours make the system attractive for mobile use in expeditions, market stalls, or food trucks. Compared to other variants of self-sufficient water disinfection, the UV-C disinfection method works purely physically, with the UV-C dose rendering microorganisms and viruses harmless. Chemically acting agents such as silver ions or chlorine are thus a thing of the past. Optionally, the PURION 400 can be ordered with lifespan monitoring and various power supply options.
