With the UVC BOX from PURION these objects can now also be disinfected quickly and easily without much effort. The reduced germ load makes an effective contribution to preventing infection with diseases.

For the disinfection and sterilization of everyday objects, the series of PURION UVC BOX Medium series is ideally suited. The UV-C light reliably kills germs, viruses and bacteria by dissolving the DNA compounds of these microorganisms.

The PURION UVC BOX Medium is characterized by its simple and uncomplicated handling. Low power consumption, a long lamp service life and low-maintenance operation round off this high-quality UV-C system.

Whether in the office or at home, the PURION UVC BOX Medium is a product "Made in Germany" and, with its simple design and built-in UV-C technology, makes high-end laboratory technology accessible to everyone.

Thanks to a wide voltage ballast, this system is designed for a voltage range of 230V and is equipped with a Euro plug and can therefore be used flexibly.

This UV-C disinfection system from PURION consists of a steel housing made of cold-rolled SPCC steel with a lockable glass door. Inside is a 17 W PURION UV lamp for optimum disinfection. The control unit is located inside the housing.

The basic version of the PURION UVC box only has an on/off function. A minimum irradiation time of 5 minutes is recommended, achieving a disinfection performance of 1,200 J/m². In order not to miss the optimum time, the Plus version of the UVC Box is recommended.

UVC light is highly effective against viruses, germs and bacteria, with lethal doses for some selected pathogens:

Influenza: 68 J/m² at 99% disinfection | 102 J/m² at 99.9% disinfection
Streptococcus viridans: 40 J/m² at 99% disinfection | 60 J/m² at 99.9% disinfection
Baccillus tuberculi (TBC): 200 J/m² at 99% disinfection | 300 J/m² at 99.9% disinfection

For which area of application was the UV box designed?

The UV-C disinfection box is suitable for sterilizing devices and objects that are exposed to germs during use. These include cell phones, jewelry, office utensils, laptops, TV equipment, hairdressing articles, medical supplies, coins and much more. UV-C light can only be effective where the radiation directly hits the medium to be disinfected. Hidden areas or areas that are in the shadow of other objects are only reached very poorly or not at all and are therefore not fully disinfected. The UV-C boxes Extra and Ultra are therefore each equipped with a UV-C lamp on the top and bottom of the box. This enables disinfection on both sides and objects to be disinfected do not have to be turned over.

Which materials can be disinfected in the box?

The disinfection effect is highly dependent on the irradiated material and the nature of the surface. Metal and glass are harmless with regard to UV irradiation. However, long-term irradiation of plastics can lead to a change in the polymer structure, which can manifest itself in the form of porosity or discoloration, for example. If you are unsure whether the UV-C box is suitable for your application, our customer service team will be happy to provide you with comprehensive advice.

What UV-C dose is used?

Our UV-C boxes work with a dose of 1,200 J/m², calculated on the basis of a runtime of 15 minutes.

What installation conditions must be observed?

There are no installation requirements to be met. The system is equipped with a door contact switch so that the UV lamps are switched off immediately when the door is opened.

Do UV-C emissions occur?

The UV-C emissions of the boxes have been tested and are permitted in accordance with the latest requirements. The viewing window of the box door is not permeable to UV-C light.

Is ozone released?

Our high-quality UV-C lamps are designed in such a way that no wavelengths below 250 nm are emitted. This means that no ozone is produced and the UV-C boxes can be used in rooms with public traffic or offices without any problems.

Can this system overheat?

The UV lamps used in the UV-C boxes cannot overheat.

Why does the UV-C lamp have to be replaced after 10,000 hours even though it is still working?

Each UV-C lamp has a technical drop in UV-C output. The manufacturer guarantees that the system will still achieve 60% UV-C output after 10,000 hours. The data given for the systems always refers to this 60% output. However, from a running time of 10,000 hours, the drop in output continues to increase. This means that the lamp is still working, but there is no longer enough UV-C output for an optimum disinfection result.
