The PURION DVGW all-in-one UVC system is a high-quality and reliable product developed for the disinfection of drinking water. The system is certified according to the standards of the German Association for Gas and Water (DVGW) and the Austrian Association for Gas and Water (ÖVGW), thus meeting the highest quality standards.

The system consists of a variety of components, all pre-assembled to allow for easy installation. These include shut-off valves, a solenoid valve, a sampling tap, and a backwash filter. The backwash filter ensures that the water flowing through the UV lamps is freed from any impurities, which extends the life of the lamps and improves disinfection.

The UVC lamps in the system are of high quality and guarantee effective disinfection of the water. The system is capable of eliminating a wide range of germs and bacteria, including Legionella, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

The certificate from the DVGW and the ÖVGW confirms that the system meets the requirements of the respective standards and ensures that the drinking water flowing through the system is protected from germs and bacteria. The certificate numbers are:

  • DVGW Certificate: DIN 19294:2020
  • ÖVGW Certificate: M 5873-1:2020-01-01

With the PURION DVGW all-in-one UVC system, you have the assurance that your drinking water is safe and hygienic and meets the highest standards. It is an effective and reliable solution for the disinfection of drinking water that can be used in both Germany and Austria.

Frequently asked questions about PURION DVGW Zert. All in One

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our product.

A UV-C disinfection system is always the last link in a water treatment chain, as the path to the extraction point should be kept as short as possible. In particular, water filters offer ideal conditions for colonization by bacteria. The freshly disinfected water would therefore become contaminated again if it were to continue through the drinking water circuit after passing through the UV-C system. Pressure tanks should also always be installed before the UV-C systems.

Every UV-C lamp has a technically induced drop in UV-C performance. The manufacturer guarantees that the system still reaches 60% UV-C performance after 10,000 hours. The specified data for the systems always refer to this 60% performance. However, after 10,000 hours of operation, the performance drop continues to increase. Therefore, the lamp still works, but it no longer produces enough UV-C performance for an optimal disinfection result.

Lifetime monitoring is recommended for all users who do not leave the system permanently on. A lamp replacement every 10,000 hours is recommended because the manufacturer does not guarantee performance beyond that, i.e., the amount of UV-C radiation dose necessary for safe disinfection.

If no water is drawn during the operation of the lamps, the water inside the system heats up. In the 10W, 17W, and 36W systems, this effect is negligible as the water temperature does not rise above 40°C. However, if the water is heated more than 40°C, as is possible with the 48W and 90W variants, the lifespan of the lamp can be negatively affected. Therefore, it is recommended to ensure a constant water flow in these systems.

The UV system should be permanently switched on for various technical reasons:
1.) The UV system takes about 1 minute to reach full performance.
2.) Igniting the lamp requires about as much energy as operating it for two hours.
3.) Each on and off cycle reduces the lifespan.

The important factor here is not the average daily water consumption, but the maximum withdrawal amounts that can occur. Therefore, the correct drinking water system is determined by the existing extraction stations and the number of people in the house. A fully opened faucet has a capacity of 300 to 500 liters per hour. In case of doubt, the next stronger system should be used.

No, we recommend flow reactors because the maximum distance between the water to be disinfected and the UV-C lamp is precisely defined. A tank disinfection system can only ensure complete disinfection if it has a previously calculated circulation. Furthermore, flow reactors are significantly more efficient.

A UV-C sensor is used to measure the emitted UV-C performance directly at the lamp. This ensures much higher safety for the user, as a performance drop is directly signaled. This can be due to poor transmission or a natural performance drop of the lamp by reaching the recommended maximum operating time of 10,000 hours.

This should be clarified with the health department in case of doubt. For this purpose, the operating certificate for the systems is available in the download area of the respective product pages of this online shop. We are also happy to advise you personally on this topic. Alternatively, we also offer a UV system certified according to both DVGW and Ö-Norm with the PURION DVGW ZERT.
