Description

Many headlines in recent months and years repeatedly point to the problem of legionella. These bacteria feel particularly comfortable in hot water circuits, which has led to showering being banned by the health department in some apartments. In this very annoying situation for tenants, the PURION 2500 H can provide relief. The landlord saves a lot of costs by using this system instead of heating the water to 70°C at an extremely high cost. The principle of UV-C disinfection is based on the fact that the DNA of the legionella is dissolved and they are absolutely reliably killed. Low energy costs and comparatively inexpensive replacement lamp costs save money. Due to the special design, the UV-C lamp of this system can be replaced during operation, which will only rarely be necessary due to its long lifespan. With a capacity of 5,000 l/h, this UV-C system can also easily supply larger apartment buildings with legionella-free water.

Thanks to a wide voltage ballast, this system is designed for a voltage range of 85-264V and can therefore be used in many different countries. The system is equipped with a Euro plug and can also be used with an adapter (not included) for other plug types.

This UV-C disinfection system from PURION meets all the technical requirements of the drinking water ordinance. The stainless steel 1.4571 used is also used in the food industry and thus meets the standard. By adhering to the prescribed maximum flow rate, the required UV-C dose of 400 J/m² is achieved at a UV-C transmission of 90% T1 cm. Thus, this UV-C system achieves a disinfection rate of 99.99%, as required by law. For trademark protection reasons, this system does not have a DVGW certificate, so in individual cases it must be clarified with the health department whether the UV-C disinfection system can be used.

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our product.

In the hot water systems PURION 1000 H and 2500 H, there is no risk of overheating because the lamps are designed for these temperature ranges.

The hot water systems are installed directly into the circuit, so the maximum flow rate depends directly on the performance of the circulation pump. For houses with 5 or more units, we recommend the PURION 2500 H. Our customer service is happy to assist you in determining the ideal sizing of the necessary system.

Each UV-C lamp has a technically induced decrease in UV-C output. The manufacturer guarantees that the system will still achieve 60% UV-C output after 10,000 hours. The specified data for the systems always refer to this 60% output. However, after 10,000 hours of operation, the decrease in output continues, and while the lamp still works, it no longer produces enough UV-C output for optimal disinfection results.

The H-series from PURION uses special amalgam lamps that are highly effective in hot water. This allows targeted killing of Legionella even in larger water flows.

A UV-C sensor is used to measure the UV-C output directly at the lamp. This ensures significantly higher safety for the user, as a decrease in output is directly signaled. This can indicate poor transmission or a natural decrease in lamp output due to reaching the recommended maximum operating time of 10,000 hours.

For safe disinfection, we use a UV-C dose of 400 J/m². This output is sufficient to achieve a disinfection rate of 99.99% while maintaining the specified flow rate and transmission. Thus, water from a tank or container can be precisely treated.

Lifespan monitoring is recommended for all users who do not keep the system permanently on. A lamp replacement every 10,000 hours is recommended because the manufacturer does not guarantee performance beyond that, meaning the amount of UV-C radiation necessary for safe disinfection.
