Can the system overheat?

There is no risk of overheating with the hot water systems PURION 1000 H and 2500 H, as the lamps are designed for these temperature ranges.

How do I know which UV-C system is right for me?

The hot water systems are installed directly into the circuit, so the maximum flow rate is directly dependent on the performance of the circulation pump. For houses with 5 or more units, we recommend the PURION 2500 H. Our customer service is available to help determine the ideal sizing of the necessary system.

Why does the UV-C lamp need to be replaced after 8,000h (only for hot water systems) or 10,000h (for all other systems) even though it still works?

Every UV-C lamp experiences a technically induced decline in UV-C output. The manufacturer guarantees that the system will still achieve 60% UV-C output after 10,000 hours. The specified data for the systems always refer to this 60% output. After 10,000 hours of operation, the decline in output continues, and while the lamp still works, it no longer produces enough UV-C output for optimal disinfection results.

Can these systems be reliably used to eliminate Legionella?

In the H-series from PURION, special amalgam lamps are installed that have high effectiveness in hot water. This allows targeted killing of Legionella even in larger water flows.

Why do I need a sensor and how does it differ from lifespan monitoring?

A UV-C sensor is used to measure the emitted UV-C power directly at the lamp. This ensures significantly higher safety for the user, as a drop in performance is directly signaled. This can be due to poor transmission or a natural decline in lamp performance after reaching the recommended maximum operating time of 10,000 hours.

What UV-C dose is used?

For safe disinfection, we use a UV-C dose of 400 J/m². This power is sufficient to achieve a disinfection rate of 99.99% while maintaining the specified flow rate and transmission. Thus, water from a tank or container can be precisely treated.

When do I need lifespan monitoring?

Lifespan monitoring is recommended for all users who do not keep the system permanently on. A lamp replacement every 10,000 hours is recommended, as the manufacturer does not guarantee performance, i.e., the amount of UV-C radiation dose necessary for safe disinfection, beyond this point.
