The decision to install a salt water pool is mostly based on health aspects. Salt water is beneficial for the skin, it is gentle and protects the body from dehydration. Precisely because of these positive effects, it is crucial that the pool is cleaned in a way that is not harmful to health. Cleaning with chlorine is absolutely not recommended here, as the positive properties of salt water are almost completely cancelled out by the chlorine and other chemicals. The PURION 2001 P uses the UV-C disinfection process: In this process, algae are specifically illuminated with UV-C light, whereby the DNA compounds dissolve and the algae die. This gentle method of water purification does not change the taste, odor or composition of the water. With the PURION 2001 P, the principle can be applied to a 30m³ salt water pool. For a health-promoting saltwater pool, there is no more compatible purification than that by UV-C - a purification that is environmentally compatible and attractive from an economic perspective.
With a wide voltage ballast, this system is designed for a voltage range of 85-264V and can thus be used in many different countries. The unit is equipped with a Euro plug and can also be used for other types of plugs with an adapter (not included).
The UV-C lamp has a natural power loss over its lifetime. We guarantee that after 10,000 hours the lamp will have reached exactly the promised flow rate. After this time the lamp must be changed, the lamp runtime meter and the lifetime monitoring (OTC) will signal the right time. The hours that the lamp is on are counted and the values are output via an LED display. Up to 9,000 hours a green LED lights up, between 9,000 and 10,000 hours the pre-alarm is indicated by a yellow LED and after 10,000 hours a red LED lights up. Thus, the right time to change the lamp is not missed.
The PVC reactor makes this unit suitable for salt water. Since the welding seams of stainless steel are attacked by the salt, there is no alternative to PVC for saltwater applications.
In order to keep a pool permanently free of algae, the correct coordination between pump and UV-C system is necessary. At least three times the pool content should flow through the UV-C system during the day. The maximum flow rate of 8m³/h should not be exceeded, as this will result in the water no longer being disinfected correctly. In certain cases it is necessary to let the system run longer: This is urgently required, for example, after major rainfall or if the water has been in the pool over the winter.
In case of an unfavorable initial situation with a lot of algae, it can be advantageous to use a biological flocculant to support the UV-C system.
In addition to the system, this bundle also includes another replacement lamp, the matching mounting frame and a service kit for intensive cleaning.
