Why does the UV-C lamp need to be replaced after 10,000 hours, even though it still works?

Every UV-C lamp exhibits a technically induced decline in UV-C performance. The manufacturer guarantees that the system will still achieve 60% UV-C performance after 10,000 hours. The specified data for the systems always refer to this 60% performance. However, after 10,000 hours of operation, the performance decline continues to increase. Therefore, the lamp still works, but it no longer produces enough UV-C performance for optimal disinfection results.

When do I need a lifespan monitoring?

Lifespan monitoring is recommended for all users who do not keep the system permanently switched on. A lamp replacement every 10,000 hours is recommended, as the manufacturer does not guarantee performance beyond that, meaning the amount of UV-C radiation dose necessary for safe disinfection.

How do I know which UV-C system is right for me?

The correct sizing of the systems is not based on the maximum daily consumption but on the expected maximum peak rate and is therefore dependent on the pump's performance.

What should be considered when installing 12V DC and 24V DC systems?

It should be noted that no power supplies with pulsed voltage should be used, as this can cause irreparable damage to the system.

Can the system be operated with photovoltaic panels?

Yes, that is possible. However, it is always recommended to use a battery to ignite the lamp. Additionally, a solar controller should always be used.
