Description

With the PURION 2500 36W, up to 10 people can be reliably supplied with freshly disinfected drinking water. Especially with rising water prices and connection fees, this is not only suitable for small systems. With a capacity of 2,500 l/h, the PURION 2500 36W is a very efficient UV-C disinfection system in terms of electricity costs. The physical process does not alter the taste or smell of the drinking water. This system kills bacteria and viruses, making it thorough and reliable. Low replacement lamp costs, a long lamp life, and low-maintenance operation complete this high-quality UV-C system. The valuable stainless steel, from which the outer body is made, is also used in the food industry and is therefore predestined for drinking water. When self-supplying with drinking water from wells, cisterns, lakes, or rivers, it is essential to integrate a UV-C disinfection system like the all-rounder PURION 2500 36W into the water treatment chain.

Thanks to a wide voltage ballast, this system is designed for a voltage range of 85-264V and can thus be used in many different countries. The system is equipped with a Euro plug and can also be used with an adapter (not included) for other plug types.

This UV-C disinfection system from PURION meets all the technical requirements of the drinking water ordinance. The stainless steel 1.4571 used is also used in the food industry and thus meets the standard. By adhering to the prescribed maximum flow rate, the required UV-C dose of 400 J/m² is achieved at a UV-C transmission of 90% T1 cm. Thus, this UV-C system achieves a disinfection rate of 99.99%, as required by law. For trademark protection reasons, this system does not have a DVGW certificate, so it must be clarified with the health department in individual cases whether the UV-C disinfection system can be used.

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our product.

A UV-C disinfection system is always the last link in a water treatment chain, as the path to the extraction point should be kept as short as possible. In particular, water filters offer ideal conditions for colonization by bacteria. The freshly disinfected water would therefore become contaminated again if it were to continue through the drinking water circuit after passing through the UV-C system. Pressure tanks should also always be installed before the UV-C systems.

Every UV-C lamp has a technically induced drop in UV-C performance. The manufacturer guarantees that the system still reaches 60% UV-C performance after 10,000 hours. The specified data for the systems always refer to this 60% performance. However, after 10,000 hours of operation, the performance drop continues to increase. Therefore, the lamp still works, but it no longer produces enough UV-C performance for an optimal disinfection result.

Lifetime monitoring is recommended for all users who do not leave the system permanently on. A lamp replacement every 10,000 hours is recommended because the manufacturer does not guarantee performance beyond that, i.e., the amount of UV-C radiation dose necessary for safe disinfection.

If no water is drawn during the operation of the lamps, the water inside the system heats up. In the 10W, 17W, and 36W systems, this effect is negligible as the water temperature does not rise above 40°C. However, if the water is heated more than 40°C, as is possible with the 48W and 90W variants, the lifespan of the lamp can be negatively affected. Therefore, it is recommended to ensure a constant water flow in these systems.

The UV system should be permanently switched on for various technical reasons:
1.) The UV system takes about 1 minute to reach full performance.
2.) Igniting the lamp requires about as much energy as operating it for two hours.
3.) Each on and off cycle reduces the lifespan.

The important factor here is not the average daily water consumption, but the maximum withdrawal amounts that can occur. Therefore, the correct drinking water system is determined by the existing extraction stations and the number of people in the house. A fully opened faucet has a capacity of 300 to 500 liters per hour. In case of doubt, the next stronger system should be used.

No, we recommend flow reactors because the maximum distance between the water to be disinfected and the UV-C lamp is precisely defined. A tank disinfection system can only ensure complete disinfection if it has a previously calculated circulation. Furthermore, flow reactors are significantly more efficient.

A UV-C sensor is used to measure the emitted UV-C performance directly at the lamp. This ensures much higher safety for the user, as a performance drop is directly signaled. This can be due to poor transmission or a natural performance drop of the lamp by reaching the recommended maximum operating time of 10,000 hours.

This should be clarified with the health department in case of doubt. For this purpose, the operating certificate for the systems is available in the download area of the respective product pages of this online shop. We are also happy to advise you personally on this topic. Alternatively, we also offer a UV system certified according to both DVGW and Ö-Norm with the PURION DVGW ZERT.

For safe disinfection, we use a UV-C dose of 400 J/m². This performance is sufficient to achieve a disinfection rate of 99.99% while maintaining the specified flow rate and transmission. Thus, water from a tank or containers can be treated precisely.
